Growing up in the Philippines, I always dreamed of owning a restaurant. I wanted a place where people could enjoy good food and create memories. In 2018, after working hard in Canada, I became a co-owner of a restaurant. It was everything I had dreamed of—managing the restaurant and making sure it reflected my passion for the food industry.

While managing the restaurant, I also started working as an insurance advisor with Greatway Financial Inc. in 2019. This part-time role gave me a chance to grow financially and expand my goals. Life was going well, balancing both careers.

Then in 2020, I met my spouse, and we connected deeply. But soon after, the world changed with the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, we learned I was expecting a daughter, which brought joy in a difficult time. However, my pregnancy was tough, and the pandemic heavily affected the restaurant industry. Juggling the challenges of pregnancy and the restaurant’s survival was hard.

When I gave birth, I realized I couldn’t rely solely on my spouse’s income. So, I continued working as an insurance advisor while on maternity leave. I quickly saw that this work allowed me to earn more money, gain independence, and support my family. It gave me the freedom to focus on what mattered most—my family and my well-being.

I also found a deeper purpose in helping others secure their futures. Being an insurance advisor wasn’t just about financial success; it was about making a difference in people’s lives and offering them peace of mind, especially during uncertain times.
